Section 1:     Duties of Officers

1.  Chairperson: 

     The Chair shall be a parent member of the PPC, and

  • a)  The Chair shall be the directing officer of the PPC, and shall preside at all PPC meetings

  • b)  He/she has the authority to call special meetings and recognize members, staff and visitors who wish  to speak, and make official written communications.

  • c)  He/she prepares, or causes to be prepared, the agenda for the PPC meeting, with the assistance of the Vice-Chair and the Early Childhood Services Director.

  • d)  He/she is the PPC representative to all federal, state and regional organizations.

  • e)  He/she shall serve on the ATCAA Board and attend ATCAA Board meetings.

  • f)  He/she shall participate in ATCAA Board assignments and

  • g)  He/she shall represent PPC as designated.

  • h)  He/she is a voting member of all PPC committees.

  • i)   He/she shall be Chair of the PPC Executive Committee.

2. Vice-Chairperson

    The Vice-Chair shall be a parent member of the PPC, and

  • a)  In the absence of the Chair, the Vice-Chair shall perform all the duties of the  Chair. (See also Article V, Section7:C)

  • b)  He/she shall be Chair of the PPC Program Committee.

  • c)  He/she shall assist the Parent Involvement Staff.

  • d)  He/she shall serve as alternate for the Chair on the ATCAA Board.

  • e)  He /she shall perform such other duties as the Chair of the PPC may designate.

  • f)   He/she shall be an active member of at least one committee.

3. Secretary

    The Secretary shall be a parent member of the PPC, and

  • a) He/she shall be responsible for assuring that attendance for all PPC   meetings is taken and reported.

  • b) He/she shall keep, or cause to be kept, minutes of all meetings in a permanent record, and will review the minutes of the PPC meetings.

  • c) He/she shall keep, or cause to be kept, up-dated list of names and addresses of all members and may assist Early Childhood Services Management Assistant with mailings.

  • d) He/she shall notify, or cause to be notified, members of meeting dates and times.

  • e) When requested, he/she prepares, with the assistance of staff, correspondence concerning PPC.

  • f)  He/she shall be Chair of the PPC Personnel Committee.

  • g) In the absence of the chair and vice-Chair, shall perform the duties of the Chair.

4. Treasurer

    The Treasurer shall be a parent member of the PPC, and

  • a.  He/she shall receive, and receipt, all monies received by PPC.

  • b.  He/she shall keep, with assistance of staff, all financial records for the PPC, and provide the PPC with a periodic (monthly) report of these funds.

  • c.  He/she shall submit the financial records to the ATCAA Board of Directors whenever requested.

  • d.  He/she shall be Chair of the PPC Budget Committee.

  • e.  In the absence of the Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary, shall perform the duties of the Chair.
