MANAGEMENT MEETING
March 25, 2003

Present: Marcie Bugera, Monica Sloneker, Melanie Garcia, Donna Johnson, Lisa Andal, Dianne Dahlstrom, Cathy Gray, Bobbie Bradshaw and Joan Ratzlaff.

1. Licensing Manuals Marcie handed out new licensing manuals to each LCT.
2. Center Reports Rhonda reported on THB = things are going very well have not lost a child this year, parents are very active, good socializations, 12 enrolled, will be going with the parents when they enroll their child for kindergarten, parents are very active in the planning of the curriculum, the year has been fun.
Cathy Gray, SB, they have 18 enrolled with 13 leaving for kindergarten, things are going great, State Preschool has a new teacher that seems to working out great, classroom will be moved this summer.
Dianne, JT, full 40 kids and TW has 7 and growing, parent is teaching the kids sign language, new CA in Becky East very nice and working great, lots of good things happening this year and the year is going fast.
Melanie, SV, 14 kids enrolled, managers are supporting her in dealing with the behavior problems, home visits are slow - cancel reschedule thing going on, field trip to the park where emergency crews will bring equipment for the kids, ACRO came out the kids loved it, pet week this week really fun.
Donna, TH, 18 kids, going good, puppet show by Thumbs Up was very good per Marcie, parenting classes for 4 weeks on Wednesday evenings by ICES, principle and superintendent drop in to say hi, field trip next month to the park with a plastic egg hunt, post office field trip this month was rained out, suggested field trip was to the barber shop give free hair cuts per Melanie (dont forget in kind)
3. In Kind Marcie reminded the staff to have the parents sign in kind form for the teacher conferences and home visits, we are down in our in kind dollars.
4. Parade HSPC voted to be a part of the Mother lode Round Up Parade again this year, SV and TH representatives volunteer to do the parade together. So Donna and Melanie this is your heads up. Check with Roz she has the entry form with the theme for this years parade. It would be good to use one of the centers for your planning meetings.
5. Year End Picnic Do you want to do one? YES, they are a lot of fun. Lisa suggested Pioneer Park in Columbia and will check into the availability. Second choice was Standard Park. Would take place on the 19th of May from 9:00 till 12:30. Suggestion was made to call the Union Democrat for coverage need the PR. Each center will bring breakfast and lunch for their children and staff.
6. Last Day of School for Kids Will be May 19th.
7. Galileo Marcie is trying to print out the reports all was going well until SB. SB is missing data and Marcie will call in the Tech Support people.
8. Substitutes Pay Scale Marcie told the LCTs if you have a staff subbing in a higher paying position they should be paid at the higher rate, if they are subbing in a lower paying position they are to still be paid at the higher rate. If you have any question or problems with this and payroll call Lisa.
9. ICES Fair Marcie still needs people to work the fair being held on April 26. Rhonda, Donna, Lisa and Bobbie will work with Marcie. Think the time is 10 1, but check with Marcie to make sure.
10. Education Plans for Staff Question on the education plans for the staff that do not have their degree. Yes, they still need to have the plan on file and continuing to work toward their degrees. Is Jane the only one graduating this year? Seems so.
11. End of Year Training for Staff It was decided to have a staff training on May 20 from 12:30 till 3:00 pm. Suggestion on where to hold this training were Papas New Roost, PJs or Brentwood Lake in TH.
12. Next Year Plan for Under Enrollment Donna: combine TH, SV and SB centers and open another center in Sonora. Hold a Head Start Fun/ Info Day
Cathy: center being held in churches, Even Start, old original center, Jamestown Elem, rent a house, new hospital; collaboration with Kiddie College; let the enrollment drop to 210
Melanie: Collaborate with other preschools (SV Co-op, Discovery, Black Oak Casino; Provide transportation to the centers working with the bus lines or buying passes; Flex time to meet the needs weekends schedule to parents schedule; All night time care at a center; leave centers open during summer.
