Absent: Melanie Garcia

1. Parent Activity Calendar  – Roz thought that putting the Literacy activity for the month on the calendar would help parents to help their child with their literacy activity for the month just like the color and shapes assist the parents. Everyone thought that was a good idea and would incorporate that into the calendar.

2. Hiring– Lisa reported that we have hired Karen Allen as a Classroom Assistant for the Sonora Center and Diane Bletiz as a Kitchen Aide for the Jamestown Center.

3. LCT meetings  – The thought of having another meeting with just the LCT’s outside of this meeting to chat, exchange ideas and get to know each other is a very desirable thing. Everyone felt this would be a good thing and decided to meet the second Thursday of the month; the first meeting will take place on 2-12-04 at the Pine Tree for 1-3 pm.

4. Self-Assessment – Linda announced the training is being held on February 3, 2004 at Green Horn Creek (up date Green Horn Creek is not available, place TBA) lunch will be served. Linda handed out a draft of the agenda

5. Magazines – Linda gave a copy of the  Head Start Bulletin to everyone. She encourages each to read this issue as it has a lot of articles on children with behavioral issues.

6. Lisa – Lisa told the staff that she will be cutting back and working only 3 days a week for the months of February and March. She will work on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

7. Telephone – Donna wanted to know when the Sonora phones would be fixed? Lee asked for a service request form to be filled out, she indicated that one had been filled out but would do another one.

8. Training– Charity feels she has not had the proper training to do and ILP. She also indicated that she needs training in some other areas too.

9. Flip Flop Trainings – Managers will use the Flip Flop training days at the end of January and February to train on ILPs and any other needs you have. Case management training will be held in March or April.

10. In-kind – The question was how are we doing with the in-kind dollars. Lee indicated that a center should generate about $3000 a month from parents logs. Staff needs to be diligent in having the parents sign in and out each day.

11. Credit Cards– Joan encouraged the LCT to have their staff to make purchase in a timely fashion and return the cards quickly. Keeping them over the weekend is not acceptable nor is keeping them for days. All staff must make the purchases the same day they pick up the cards so the cards are not out of the office more than 5-6 hours.

12. Ordering Supplies –Cathy Gray asked if the order sheet for the kitchen supplies could be made up like we did the office supplies with the most used products listed so the LCT could just write in the quantity needed. Yes and Joan will do this with the information that Monica gave to her today.

13. Teeth Varnishing  – Susan Bowe mentioned the date for this process to be done in the selected centers. First time JT and SB next week, SO 3-12; second time SB 3-26; JT 4-23; SO 5-21

14. Case Review – Susan mentioned that with Marcie leaving that some of the reviews did not take place. The Managers are in the process of completing those. The following is a schedule of those review that are to take place: JT tomorrow, TW cancelled; SF 1-29; SB pm 1-28.

15. Dental Screenings: SF 2-9 at 10:00; SV 2-9 at 1:30; JT 2-12; SB 2-24 at 9:30; 2-25 cancelled; 2-11 cancelled; SB pm 1-27 1:30.

16. Management Meeting:  The meeting on February 17th will be cancelled. The next meeting will be held on 3-16 with Charity leading the meeting.
